Listen to Beck on iHeartRadio

Beck fans will soon have a new album to enjoy now that Beck has a new label.

The singer-songwriter has signed on with Capitol Records, and he's announced plans to release his first proper collection of new material since 2008's Modern Guilt.  The new record is called Morning Phase, and is scheduled to be released in February 2014.

A press release describes it as a "companion piece of sorts" to Beck's acclaimed 2002 album, Sea Change.  Morning Phase was recorded by many of the same musicians as Sea Change, and supposedly features similar harmonies, song craft, and "emotional impact" as well.

Although Beck hasn't put out a new album in a while, he has kept busy.  He released a 20-song book of sheet music for new songs last December, covered David Bowie's "Sound and Vision" with an orchestra for a Lincoln car commercial, and released a trio of stand-alone singles earlier this year.  "Defriended," "I Won't Be Long," and "Gimme" are all available on vinyl at
