One of the greatest music movies of all time is being adapted for the stage.
The musical version of Cameron Crowe's "Almost Famous" is opening in San Diego this September
Here's more from Billboard:
Producers Lia Vollack announced the news of the production on Friday morning (April 26) on behalf of Columbia Live Stage, Joey Parnes, Sue Wagner and John Johnson, revealing that opening night is set for Sept. 27 in the city where Crowe grew up and set the film's story.
"The story has always been a personal one for me and it is a special thrill that we are coming to the Old Globe," Crowe said in a statement. "We used to live in an apartment on Sixth Street across from Balboa Park and the Old Globe. I first met Lester Bangs less than a mile away from where theAlmost Famousmusical will open. It all feels a little bit like fun destiny to bring this story about loving music back to San Diego, where it all began.”
In case it's been a minute since you've been to this world - here's the trailer for the film (still one of the best)
