This 108-Year-Old Woman's Secret To A Long Life Is Champagne

Dorothy gained quite a bit of attention for her birthday this year when Bupa UK Southlands Care Home posted on Facebook asking for people to write her 108 cards for this very exciting birthday. She ended up receiving 670 cards and making major headlines in the process, leading many to ask what she thinks has helped her live this long.

During some interviews, Bupa UK Southlands resident manager Helene Ballinger spoke for Dorothy and gave some insight into her daily routine, according to Yahoo Style UK. First off, she loves people and hangs out by the reception desk often. There, she even has her own drawer of chocolate buttons because she loves them so much.

But Helene said the thing she truly loves is a bit of bubbly, calling champagne the key to Dorothy's long life.

“Her real secret for longevity though has to be champagne,” she told them. “It’s the only thing we ever see her finish a glass of.”

The center even posted a photo of Dorothy downing a flute of champs alongside the original request for cards, so it prompted many to send her champagne, gin, and chocolate with their sweet notes.

OK, so gin, chocolate, and champagne. I guess I'm gonna live forever!
