This Swiss Theater Has Reclining Beds Instead of Seats—and Unlimited Snacks

Fact: Watching a movie is just better in bed. And clearly, one Swiss movie theater agrees. Located in Switzerland, Cinema Pathé has a “VIP bedroom” screening room, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. The VIP bedroom has twin-sized beds instead of traditional movie seats—complete with soft bedsheets, adjustable headrests, and blankets. With two beds for every section, customers can come in pairs and relax together with plenty of legroom and reclining space.

Cinema Pathé aims to give moviegoers an unforgettable experience possible from start to finish. For $48.50, customers also get complimentary drinks and snacks, plus slippers and even bedside tables to make it feel like you’re truly at home. And if the thought of cozying up in a bed that other people have curled up in—and by other people, we mean countless strangers—Venanzio Di Bacco, the CEO of Pathé Switzerland, has got that covered.

“The hygiene aspect is very important to us,” he said to My Modern Met. Di Bacco assures that the bedsheets are thoroughly cleaned and replaced before every screening. Now, all that’s left is to plan your trip to Switzerland (if you don’t already live there!) and decide want you want to see.
