A Florida homeowner who was leaving for work Tuesday afternoon found a dangerous intruder in his garage: a seven-foot-long alligator.
Police believe the confused reptile wandered into the North Port garage and couldn't figure out how to get out. They managed to get it out by opening the garage door and shooing it in the direction of a nearby canal, according to an incident report.
In a Facebook post, a North Port Police Department rep wrote, "One local resident on Hobblebrush Drive in North Port had a seven footer trying to catch a ride this afternoon."
