Making A Difference with L.A. Pride

(Aired June 5, 2022) Lisa Foxx interviews Gerald Garth, Vice President Community Programs & Initiatives for CSW and on the Board of LA Pride...

Christopher Street West (CSW), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, organized the world’s first permitted parade advocating for gay rights on June 28, 1970 to commemorate the Stonewall Rebellion on Christopher Street in New York City the year prior. Over 50 years later, we have built a rich history as an active voice for the LGBTQ+ community across the Greater Los Angeles area.

While we’re best known for producing the LA Pride Parade & Festival (one of the largest Pride celebrations in the country, thanks to you!) we also organize, sponsor or support other community events throughout the year, and work with our nonprofit, philanthropic, community and corporate partners to further diversity, equity and inclusion.

CSW / LA Pride is proud to represent Los Angeles, CA as a member of InterPride, the global association of over 400 Pride organizations from more than 70 countries.

Ready to make a difference?

LA Pride is more than a parade and a party in June. Pride means supporting each other, giving back, and taking care of our community. Last year, we launched PRIDE MAKES A DIFFERENCE, our 365 initiative to support the LGBTQ+ community of Los Angeles through donation drives, acts of services, and volunteering events. Check out what we have planned for Pride month, and all yearlong right here. Our calls-to-action in the areas of food and housing insecurity, mental wellness, career and business, and youth & elders give everyone a way to make a difference for our LGBTQ+, and other communities of Los Angeles.
