Chick-Fil-A's Grand Opening in Burbank Attracts 150 Overnight Campers

At least 150 people braved cool temperatures Wednesday night in Burbank ahead of a brand new Chick-fil-A location opening, for the chance to win a year's worth of free food from the restaurant.

The fast-food chain celebrated its new location located at 3113 W. Olive Ave by offering 100 campers 52 free Chick-fil-A sandwich meals. Nearly 100 new Chick-fil-A restaurants open every year with many of those celebrating their grand openings by sponsoring an overnight campout that rewards the first 100 customers with the grand prize.

The 12-hour campout began at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

The campers won 52 meals, which include one sandwich, a side of medium waffle fries, and a medium drink. The value of the grand prize is listed as $319.28.

Since more than 100 people showed up 12 hours before the location's grand opening, a random drawing was held to determine which 100 received the the right to camp out and win the Grand Prize, Cindy Champman of CP communication told NBC LA.

The new location in Burbank opened for the first time at 6 a.m. on Thursday at 3113 W. Olive Ave.
