Californians With Low Incomes To Receive $600 State Stimulus Checks

Mass Vaccination Site Opens At Cal State In Los Angeles

Governor Gavin Newsom and various legislative leaders announced Wednesday, February 17th, 2021 that Californians with low incomes will receive a $600 state issued check under 9.6 Billion Dollar economic relief package. This money is to help low income families deal with financial hardships caused by COVID-19. The $600 will be in addition to the stimulus that has already been approved by congress which would be up to $1,400 per person that has been proposed by the House Democrats. The package also will include $525 per enrolled child for all state-subsidized child-care and preschool providers.California residents could be eligible for the earned income tax credit if they have annual incomes of $30,000 or less.
