This rat who sniffs out landmines was just awarded a gold medal for bravery! Magawa is a giant African Pouched Rat who was trained to sniff out landmines and explosives. In just 30 minutes he can sniff out an area of land that would take days to search with a metal detector. He was awarded a mini version of the PDSA Gold Medal for lifesaving bravery and devotion to duty!
He even wears the medal around his neck!
