Over 190,000 ceiling fans have been recalled due to the fans blades detaching while in use.
A Florida based company called King of Fans announced a recall after receiving 47 reports of the blades detaching. The fans were sold at Home Depot nationwide. Two of those reports indicated that a detached fan blade hit someone and four reports said that a blade caused property damage.
According to commission, they stated:
"If consumers observe blade movement or uneven gaps between the blades and fan body or movement of the clip during inspection, consumers should immediately contact King of Fans for a free replacement ceiling fan."
