I know in CA most all of us are terrified of rattlesnakes, and yes... according to THIS graph it might be the most likely cause of death in our state.
BUT annual deaths from rattlesnakes are no where near the cold blooded killers known as deer.
On average, deer kill 120 people a year. Rattlesnakes only kill a quarter of a person.
