Back in July, we reported on the news that Sriracha-flavored Doritos were likely coming this fall. We didn't have much info, but basically, it's safe to say we've all been waiting for the official announcement that these would be hitting shelves for sure. Well now, it is my very cool job to be able to tell you that yes, Sreamin' Sriracha-flavored Doritos are finally here.
Screamin' Sriracha is Doritos' first-ever, limited-time-only flavor and for good reason: people are very into the Sriracha flavor profile. The snack takes a classic, cheesy Doritos and adds the spice and sweetness of Sriracha sauce to take it to the next level. You can pick these up across the US for $4.29 for a 9.75 ounce bag starting in select stores on October 7 and nationwide on October 21.
We had a chance to exclusively try these in the Delish offices and people definitely had feelings about them. At first, you may not think it's all that spicy (some people never did!) but it definitely has a kick that hits in later, in my opinion. It almost tastes akin to ketchup or spicy barbecue sauce, so if you like a sweet and spicy flavor combo, this is probably the chip for you. If you're a Sriracha purist like some people definitely are, these may not be your bag.
Unlike the Flamin' Hot Doritos that came out earlier this year, these babies are only around for a limited time, so whether you're hyped, confused, or anything in between, you only have a limited time to try them for yourself. Just be sure to have a drink handy—I know I needed mine.
