COVID-19 might force casinos into the cashless era. The casino industry is one of the last businesses that mainly still works with handling paper money.
No states currently offer cashless payments on casino floors, but this could change. According to The American Gaming Association released a report that says 59% of people who visited a casino in the last year are less likely to use cash due to COVID-19.
Some believe that electronic access to money could create a gateway for problem gamblers.
