CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook and Instagram will let users in the United States turn off political ads in their feeds as the presidential election approaches.
In a statement, he said "For those of you who've already made up your minds and just want the election to be over, we hear you." This new feature will be available in the next few weeks and Facebook is expected to lose ad revenue from their decision since it's one of the largest advertising platforms.
If you weren't aware, Facebook has recently been courted for criticism and letting candidates buy ads that contain lies or some misleading claims.
