Archaeologists in Norway used radar technology to make a rare find - the remains of a 1,500-year-old Viking ship.

The 62-foot vessel was discovered with ground-penetrating radar, or GPR, which revealed the ship buried about 4 feet beneath the surface of an ancient burial mound.

Researchers say boats symbolized safe passage to the afterlife, and that the ship was likely buried with an elite member of Viking society.
