LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The United States Coast Guard is monitoring the waters off of Los Angeles Monday after finding a black substance offshore.
The agency reported Sunday it was "aware of a black substance in the water." A post on social media said, "Earlier today, USCG personnel arrived on scene and identified the substance to be soot from an unknown source."
The exact location was not disclosed.
The USCG Sector for Los Angeles and Long Beach will continue monitoring the situation, according to the post.
