This week's New Music Discovery features 22 year-old Rosa Linn's "Snap" on ALT 98.7.
Rosa Linn is a singer, songwriter, and producer from Vanadzor, Armenia. She has been playing piano and writing music since childhood, singing in both Russian and English. Discovered by Nvak Collective, a label focused on talent in under-served areas, Rosa represented Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest with “SNAP,” which earned her a spot in the Grand Final. A sped-up version of the song went viral on TikTok and led users back to the original performance, quickly becoming a global hit and the highest streaming song from the competition.
Multiple other versions of “SNAP” have been created, resulting in nearly half a million posts across TikTok and IG Reels and an official EP release containing all variations. The track continues to climb charts worldwide, with new daily streaming peaks and playlisting features across the major DSPs. “SNAP” also discusses hitting a mental breaking point, and Rosa is inspired by other artists like Julia Michaels who address mental health issues through their music.
