It's been calculated that roughly around 1.2 million U.S. citizens didn't get their stimulus checks because of their spouses.
The reason being that, some people are married to immigrants who don't have social security numbers and happened to joint-file their taxes.
One of these people was named David Hessell-Cercado who said that he didn't get his check because his husband didn't have a social security number.
