FDA Warns That These Hand Sanitizers May Be Toxic

If you are impulse buying hand sanitizer, make sure you are checking the label.

According to the FDA, some brands could actually be toxic. They just identified nine hand sanitizer products that contain the toxic chemical methanol which is also known as wood alcohol. The brands that were listed are CleanCare NoGerm, Saniderm, Lavar 70, The Good Gel, All-Clean and Esk Biochem.

Experts state that if this is ingested, methanol poisoning can potentially cause blindness, seizures, nervous system damage or death.
