NASA has warned us that a huge asteroid is approaching Earth on July 24th. There is also information that two asteroids are expected to move past our planet on Sunday as well.
Both asteroids have been named by NASA and they are 2016 DY30 and 2020 ME3.
In a statement, NASA said : "Potentially Hazardous Asteroids (PHAs) are currently defined based on parameters that measure the asteroid’s potential to make threatening close approaches to the Earth. Specifically, all asteroids with a minimum orbit intersection distance (MOID) of 0.05 au or less are considered PHAs."
They stated that based on the speed the asteroid is set to travel at, the distance from earth is what categorizes this as dangerous.
