Orange County Declares August 24th as 'Kobe Bryant Day'

Los Angeles Lakers Legend Kobe Bryant Memorialized Across L.A. In Murals

Orange County, California will be celebrating 'Kobe Bryant Day' later this month.

On Tuesday, county officials voted to honor the late Lakers superstar on Aug. 24th - the two numbers Bryant wore during his career. It's also just one day after Kobe's birthday on Aug. 23rd.

Bryant lived in Orange County for years, and his wife Vanessa was an OC native. The resolution declared that Kobe "was a basketball legend that inspired so many globally to pursue their dreams".
