It has just been announced that outside the Staples center, a select portion of Figueroa Street will be renamed to honor Kobe Bryant. It will now be called Kobe Bryant Boulevard, between Olympic Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard according to LA City Council Members.
The announcement was made by Los Angeles City Council member, Herb J. Wesson Jr. This was announced after the celebration of 8/24 which is now known as Kobe Bryant Day in Los Angeles and Orange County. To honor Kobe, the Lakers wore special "Black Mama" uniforms to honor him and his daughter, Gianna.
