Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers joined Booker and Stryker backstage at ALT 98.7's ALTer Ego presented by Capital One to talk about their performance at the show and their process for choosing songs to play during the show.
For their hometown show, Red Hot Chili Peppers opened their performance with a song off of their newest album and also performed several of their prior hits including "Californication" and "Snow (Hey Oh)".
"We're fortunate that we have a good group of songs that people really love and connect with," Chad Smith told Booker and Stryker.
While there is a handful of songs they always try to play, Chad Smith shared that they do make a point of playing new songs to switch things up during their show.
Smith said the experience of playing songs that so many people connect with is something super special to the band.
