A man just got fined for farting on a cop and is arguing that farts are protected forms of expression.

He was fined $600 for farting on a police officer and argued in court that his fart falls under freedom of expression. In a decision released by the administrative court in Vienna, the court lays out some much needed detail in regards to the alleged events that transpired on that day.

The man was hanging out with friends at a park when a group of officers approached them during a routine identity check. The document reads "When he released the intestinal gas, the complainant was sitting on a park bench. He then lifted his buttocks and tensed up a little before letting the intestinal gas escape.”  He argued that it was not intentional.

The judge didn't buy his argument but ended up reducing his fine.
