Sum 41 got a very special introduction before their performance at the iHeartRadio ALTer EGO presented by Capitol One. Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park hit the Honda Center stage on Saturday, January 13th, with the night's host Woody of iHeartRadio ALT 98.7’s nationally syndicated “The Woody Show," to introduce the band.

Shinoda's support continued after he left the stage and a backstage video shows the musician excitedly cheering on his colleagues as they make their way to the stage. The wholesome moment comes years after Shinoda teamed up with Sum 41 at the Reading Leeds Festival to cover the Linkin Park song, "Faint."

Sum 41's performance got fans hyped up for their upcoming record Heaven x Hell, which lead singer Deryck Whibley told the ALTer EGO crowd would be their last. The band ended 2023 with the bittersweet announcement. “I love Sum 41, what we’ve achieved, endured, and stuck together through, which is why I want to call it quits,” Deryck said at the time. “There were so many times we could’ve broken up. For some reason, we kept sticking it out. I’m proud of that. It’s the right time to walk away from it. I’m putting all of my energy into what’s ahead. This is going to be the biggest tour of our lives, and I want to make it the best show we’ve ever done. That’s it.”

Heaven x Hell drops on March 15th with the band exploring “early Sum 41 pop punk” on the Heaven side and “newer, heavier Sum 41” on the Hell side.
