LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Metro A Line Florence Station was closed for more than four hours Tuesday while an investigation was conducted into an assault, authorities said.
The station in the 7200 block of Graham Avenue was closed about 3:30 a.m., at the request of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, according to Jose Ubaldo of Metro.
"According to an initial police report, a male was attacked by another male ... as he was exiting the station," Ubaldo said in a statement. "The victim was transported, with serious injuries to a local hospital. Metro extends its sympathies to the victim."
Metro established a bus bridge for rail passengers between the Slauson to the Firestone stations. The Florence Station was reopened about 7:55 a.m., and the bus bridge was canceled, Ubaldo said.
