Mike Shinoda's new song “Make It Up As I Go” featuring K-Flay is this week's New Music Discovery!
Shinoda has been learning to cope and continue to create music after the tragic death of Linkin Park bandmate Chester Bennington. In June, he released his "Post Traumatic" album, which features the single "Make It Up As I Go."
The latest album shares Shinoda's personal journey after losing his friend and collaborator.
“It’s a journey out of grief and darkness, not into grief and darkness,” Shinoda says. Ultimately, Post Traumatic is an album about healing. The songs, though specific about Shinoda’s experience with loss, manage to be universally relatable, thanks to their honesty and heart. “If people have been through something similar, I hope they feel less alone,” he says. “If they haven’t been through this, I hope they feel grateful.”
In October, Shinoda will hit the road as part of the Monster Energy Outbreak US Tour. The tour stops in Los Angeles and Anaheim on November 2nd and 5th, respectively.
